I'm bummed this place closed before I could review it, but them's the breaks. Miss Carousel wasn't even on our radar when we walked in that night. We had just left 8th Wonder Brewery with a nice buzz and a mission to keep the party going. We were told Miss Carousel was just the cool spot we were looking for, and fortunately it was walking distance from the brewery, which is more than I can say for most places in Houston, which are only accessible by car. The place was less a party vibe and more of a classy lounge vibe than we were looking for, but the fireplace and excellent drinks made up for it. While I was nervous that the environment was telling us to wind down when I wanted to turn up until the dance floor in the back lit up. It was filled with older folks cutting a rug, which was great to watch. It's a shame this place is now closed. I hope someone brings it back, or at least opens something with the same vibe. The world needs more places where you can sip a top-notch cocktail while watching someone's cool aunt break it down on the dance floor.

I loved Miss Carousel from the moment I laid eyes on it. It was a gorgeous space, perfect for a casual evening, ideal for groups, and a solid destination for special occasions. The cherry on top was their beautiful cocktails, ample indoor/outdoor seating and laid back non-pretentious vibe. For all the vast nightlife options throughout EaDo, I thought Miss Carousel was always a guaranteed good time. I always enjoyed the relaxing vibe, the chill billiards area, the comfy couches and the friendly bartenders. Most bathrooms are horrid in this neighborhood, but somehow Miss Carousel managed to keep them looking respectable. Above all, the cocktails had good presentation and were potent enough for me to keep ordering them. Now it's closed. But it's not all bad news. The closure was deliberate and the owners are looking to reincarnate the space into another nightlife concept, with an emphasis on sports, events, and live music. Just please don't bring back the older DJ who brought cringe energy and was a frequent repeat entertainer on the weekends. Considering all the changes happening in this part of town, it'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

I'm rarely in EaDo but I may have to make an exception for this place. A few friends recommended checking it out for drinks after we had dinner nearby. The first thing that stood out is how spacious it was. We came around 9PM so there was still plenty of seating but I heard it gets packed later. The DJ played throwback 2000's hip-hop and R&B so my friends and I were having a great time and enjoying the music. The drinks were great and reasonably priced. I had the "Pretty in Pink" which was a vodka-based cocktail with just the right amount of sweetness. Parking, especially free parking, will be hard to come by around this area. I suggest taking an Uber/Lyft or plan on parking at the nearby lots. Will for sure be back!

Been here for their happy hour which truly is amazing. $3 pizza slices that are larger than your head. Great drink deals too. They are a large space with pool tables in the front. Perfect for a pregame, post work drinks and anything in between.
